CityBizList: The Conversation Project, a national public engagement campaign, helping ensure every person’s end-of-life wishes are expressed and respected, announced the appointment of Harriet Stern Warshaw to executive director. In this role, Warshaw will work with The Conversation Project’s co-founder Ellen Goodman and nationally recognized advisors to implement the organization’s mission of fostering the discussion of how we want to live at the end of life.
“This movement is very close to my heart,” said Warshaw. “My mother lived a brave life battling six different types of cancers before dying of emphysema. Because of her many illnesses my mother had ample opportunity to share with us how she wanted to live at the end of her life. When the end did come, knowing that we were able to honor her wishes because of our conversations was very comforting. By joining The Conversation Project I hope to carry on her legacy of encouraging honest and open end of life discussions with love ones.”
