High Medicare Spending Doesn’t Improve Survival Rates for Late-stage Cancer

Everyday Health: Jessica McCannon, MD, a pulmonary critical care physician at Massachusetts General Hospital, says there are ways to improve the health care system’s ability to help a patient plan for his or her death by offering resources early on to patients and doctors. Dr. McCannon is on the advisory board for Conversation Ready Initiative, a pioneer group of eleven hospitals that facilitates the distribution of the educational materials.
