Can Preparation Make Death Less Daunting?

The Jerusalem Post: In the USA, a growing number of states endorse a program known as POLST (Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment). POLST seeks to provide a user-friendly template for recording the types of interventions that patients want and don’t want as death looms. American writer Ellen Goodman launched another popular program, The Conversation Project. Goodman intuited a way to bring conversations about death into the mainstream, so that they “could even be discussed around the dinner table.” One may download a starter kit from the Internet.
