Planning for the future
I had the conversation with my spouse.
We have both seen loved ones die and we don't want to have to fight the medical community or other family members one of us is facing a health crisis. In sharing those stories, we found out what was important to the other and were able to ask each other questions. So we know what the other wants and we are doing the things we need to do to make sure that happens!
We were married last year, or at least we had a ceremony. Marriage between two women is still not legal here in Virginia. This year we started implementing our planning regard the future and what happens if one of us dies first. Lots of legal things to do to make sure our wishes are carried out.
