Standing by her wishes

By Diane
Posted on

I had the conversation with my family members.

I stood firm to Mother's Wishes and I think that is why I am so at peace with her death.
I had the Conversation with my Mother and my Aunt while they were fully engaged mentally. I did a Living Will and Final Wishes for burial and exactly what they wanted. They both signed the documents. My Mother passed away recently at the age of 93 and I was fully at peace with her death, she lived her live the way she wanted and died the way she wanted. She had signed off on no funeral, just grave side services and no viewing. She outlived all her family but me but had many friends. These friends took me one by one and insisted I have a viewing. I stood firm to Mother’s Wishes and I think that is why I am so at peace with her death.

My Aunt is still living, if only a vegetable, but I am firmly standing by her wishes also. The DNR is in place and I will let her die on her terms as she has lived her life. I will be at peace with it.
