I had the conversation with my parent.

I have helped to facilitate hundreds of conversations with families as they face these difficult decisions. The relief is immense when these issues are aired out.
My mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer when I was 24 years old. Her ability to share her wishes made the last months so much easier to navigate for me and my siblings. Now, I am the director of a hospice program. I have helped to facilitate hundreds of conversations with families as they face these difficult decisions. The relief is immense when these issues are aired out. The families relax and can enjoy the time left. Later, they have the gift of knowing that they honored their loved one’s wishes and they did not have to struggle with knowing what to do. it also prevents conflicts within families when these decisions are discussed ahead of time.
