My mother and I helped my father discuss his wishes

I had the conversation with my parent.

As hard as it was to lose my very active dad at age 62, it would have been horrible to not have been able to know he had his wishes taken care of, some of which I would not have had a clue he wanted!
My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer that metastasized to his brain. He lived 8 months after diagnosis. In this time we grew closer. My mom & I helped him discuss his wishes. Together we planned his funeral, from pall bearers, money to be donated to a children’s home instead of flowers, songs to be sang, to be cremated instead of buried, everything!

This was very hard on my mom & so I did most of the talking with him and planning. As hard as it was to lose my very active dad at age 62, it would have been horrible to not have been able to know he had his wishes taken care of, some of which I would not have had a clue he wanted! Now I need to have the talk with my mom about her wishes as she lives with my husband & I full time.
