January 20th Community Call Preview

Posted on 01/12/2016

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then is a video worth a million?

Whether on our TVs, a movie screen, computers, or smart phones… videos are everywhere. The ability to convey an emotional message quickly is unparalleled and one we’ve tried to incorporate into more of our work at The Conversation Project. Join us for our free monthly community call on Wednesday, January 20th to learn about two new video resources with ties to The Conversation Project.

First, you’ll hear from the makers of a new PBS documentary, Nine to Ninety. This touching video is a wonderful tribute to a multi-generational family as they dive into difficult conversations and decisions. Now airing around the country, the film makers will join us to share more about the documentary itself, as well as how you can get involved with local screenings, hosting events, and online discussion groups. (They’ve even created a video of family members using The Conversation Project Conversation Starter Kit!)

Additionally, we’ll share information about 12 videos created to show different scenarios for having the conversation. Created by the Take Charge of Your Life Partnership, these videos will now live on the Community Resource Center. Many of you asked for examples of videos showing different scenarios where someone may have the conversation, or conversations between different groups (friends, family, men, women…) and we hope these videos fit the bill.

As always, we’ll share other news and updates from the TCP team so you can plan for community introductions in your region. We’re looking forward to connecting, hearing your questions and updates, and learning about any video resources you’d recommend!

    Hi all,
TY for the conference call today at 1 pm with Zack. I was late getting in as had trouble with me cell phone but finally connected by calling support team. I look forward to more of these. I have been involved with the What if…Workshops, doing them on Cape Cod, MA at various churches, Assisted Livings and COA’s in a piecemeal fashion with good results, but would like to network with a wider group by partnering with a Health care System or PPO practice. Can you advise me how best to do this? Also, I’m not sure if I am registered with TCP yet, if not I would like to be. Thank you! Kathy Budreski

Outstanding post but I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this subject? I’d be very grateful if you could elaborate a little bit further. Thank you!
