coherent and meaningful. If I knew I was terminally ill, I wouldn’t want to live through a long period of degeneration requiring constant care. I would rather choose to die, with my husband by my side, somewhere beautiful like the Arizona desert, with the sun on my face. And that would be how he would remember me – not a bed-ridden, incontinent shadow, with very little left of the person that I once was.
