as gentle as possible. I do not want it to be prolonged in any way. I want to be at home with my family. I do not want to go to the hospital. I make my kids talk about what my husband and I want every Thanksgiving. We approach it as “Let’s be grateful for our present life and thank God for all his many blessings to our family. However, we know that someday our earthly journey will end and this is what we would like the transition from one life to another to look like.” The boys hate talking about it every year and I make sure we do it before the football game. It is all written down and I want to make sure they know where their copies of our wishes are in their homes.
